PDR insurance work · In beta

Insurance work for paintless dent repair shops.

Paintless dent repair (PDR) insurance work means a claim on every car, an estimate the adjuster reviews, and two parties to bill. In PDRCore the carrier, claim number, deductible and adjuster ride on the RO, changes go in supplements, and the carrier and the customer are each invoiced for their part.

The trade

What makes insurance PDR different.

A retail customer reads one figure and says yes. An insurance car carries a claim: a carrier, a claim number, often an adjuster, a deductible the owner pays, and the carrier paying the rest. The estimate has to stand up to the adjuster's review, panel by panel, and the photos have to prove each line.

Hail claims are priced the way the trade prices hail: each panel by its dent size, from Dime to Half-Dollar, and its count range, with R&I lines for access and upcharges for aluminum, glue pulls and oversize dents. Damage found after approval goes through a supplement, never a quiet edit.

Some paper on an insurance car belongs to the shop alone, such as a direction to pay. What it says, and how it fits the shop's state and its carriers, is the shop's decision and its attorney's.

The claim

The claim rides on the RO.

  • Carrier, claim and adjuster

On an insurance RO, the carrier, claim number, deductible and adjuster go on at drop-off, with the date of loss, and can be changed later on the RO.

  • Priced from PDRCore's dent matrix

Each panel on an insurance estimate is priced from PDRCore's dent matrix by dent size and count range, with aluminum, glue-pull and oversize upcharges on top.

  • R&I and R&R kept apart

R&I and R&R lines sit under the panel they belong to, beside its PDR line.

  • Photos on the line they prove

Attach each photo to the estimate line it shows, so the adjuster sees the dent with the price.

The paperwork

The paper an adjuster asks for, in your shop's words.

  • The claim package

The estimate, the damage diagram, the photos and the authorization in one file, with its contents listed.

  • A direction to pay in your words

Your shop writes its direction to pay once, in Settings. PDRCore supplies no wording, and produces none until your shop has written it.

  • Supplements that hold up

The approved estimate stays locked. Changes go in a supplement with a reason, and each sent version is compared with the original.

Questions shops ask.

What is a direction to pay?

A direction to pay is a document in which the vehicle's owner asks their insurer to pay the repair shop directly. What yours says is your shop's decision; ask your attorney about the wording for your state.

Does PDRCore write the direction to pay for me?

No. Your shop writes it once in Settings, and PDRCore puts your words on the document. Until your shop has written it, PDRCore won't produce one.

Can I invoice the carrier and the customer separately?

Yes. The carrier and the customer are each invoiced for their own amounts on the same RO, and each payment is recorded with who paid.

Can a customer approve an insurance estimate online?

Only if your shop turns it on. Online approval starts off for insurance estimates and on for retail estimates, and your shop can change either.

What happens when we find more damage after approval?

It goes in a supplement with its reason. The approved estimate stays locked, and the supplement is compared with the original side by side.
